I have always had trouble falling asleep for no good reason. One thing I noticed while on a trip out of town one day was that I slept great at the hotel. I tried to think of why this occurred, and the main things that stuck out to me were that the hotel room was clutter-free and I loved the decor. I decided to redecorate my bedroom not to perfectly match the hotel room, but to organize the clutter and create a room that I just loved. It helped, and instead of dreading bedtime, I began to look forward to entering my beautiful oasis I created for myself. I started sleeping like a baby. I created this blog to encourage you to look into redecorating your bedroom in you have sleeping troubles. It worked for me.

When planning your big day, you want every detail to be perfect and as unique as you are. This includes the lighting used for the wedding tables at the reception. While open candles can provide a warm and romantic glow, they're usually very expensive and can be dangerous, especially at large receptions with children who may run around the tables and knock them over. Consider instead, some unique ideas for wedding table lighting.

1. Lanterns

Candle lanterns can be a good choice when you want the look of candles but don't want open candles that can be a hazard. A lantern safely and securely keeps the candle away from guests and contained in the lantern itself. There are many choices when it comes to lanterns including traditional upright designs, but you might also add a touch of personality by opting for a star table lantern or lanterns in a shade that matches your wedding décor.

2. Battery-operated candles

Battery-operated candles are a great choice, since they produce a warm glow that looks just like a real flame but without the danger of an actual fire. They're good for using around a buffet table where people shouldn't be reaching around an open flame and where children may be unattended.

To make battery-operated candles even more attractive, place them on top of mirrors. The mirror will reflect the glow and even cast a soft light on the ceiling. The mirrors will also help to center and anchor the candles for more visual impact.

3. Spotlights

Renting a spotlight is a good choice for a wedding, as it can make the bride's and groom's table stand out without a harsh light in front of or behind them. You can place a spotlight some distance away, even across the room, and throw a soft light on their table or use them to add light to the buffet tables. Spotlights often come with colored foil you can add over them so you can create a colored light; use a shade that matches your wedding for a very unique look.

4. Rope lights and Christmas lights

Rope lights can be wrapped around columns or across tables for a very festive but soft look, and Christmas lights such as those you add to your tree can also be very soft and colorful. You can even drape these lights over ceiling fixtures or wrap them around live trees you can rent for the occasion. This will make your reception area very unique and very beautiful.
