I have always had trouble falling asleep for no good reason. One thing I noticed while on a trip out of town one day was that I slept great at the hotel. I tried to think of why this occurred, and the main things that stuck out to me were that the hotel room was clutter-free and I loved the decor. I decided to redecorate my bedroom not to perfectly match the hotel room, but to organize the clutter and create a room that I just loved. It helped, and instead of dreading bedtime, I began to look forward to entering my beautiful oasis I created for myself. I started sleeping like a baby. Here are some tips you can use to organize your own shed:

Use Shelving

One thing that can help you find items is to install shelving inside your shed. You can purchase a shelving unit for your local hardware store to place in your shed. They are easy to assemble and will save you a ton of room inside your shed.

Each shelf can be organized to hold items you use. Make a shelf that holds your gardening supplies and another to hold your backyard sports equipment. Giving each shelf their own dedicated subject will help you find things easily.

Utilize The Walls

You can place a pegboard on one wall in your shed to help you organize any tools you keep in your shed. Pick a windowless wall and install a piece of pegboard directly to the wall. You can screw it into place and then use hooks to hang your important items.

One way to make sure you do not lose your tools would be to trace them on the pegboard with a marker. You will then be able to see when a tool has been removed and you will know which one you are looking for by the shape.

Add a few hooks randomly throughout your shed to help you hang items so they are not all on your floor. You can also hang handle holders on your wall to hang up your rakes and brooms. This is a great way to keep them from becoming tangled with each other in a corner of your shed. You will be able see them all individually on the sides of your walls of your shed, making it easy to grab one when needed.

Organizing Small Items

Install a shelf on the wall of your shed to be able to organize your smaller items. You can use the top of the shelf to place things, but you can also utilize the bottom of the shelf. Screw lids directly to the bottom of your shelf. You will be able to fill the jars with small items such as nails, screws, or seeds. They will then be able to be screwed right to the bottom of your shelf so they do not get lost within your shed.
