Can't Sleep? Redecorate Your Bedroom

I have always had trouble falling asleep for no good reason. One thing I noticed while on a trip out of town one day was that I slept great at the hotel. I tried to think of why this occurred, and the main things that stuck out to me were that the hotel room was clutter-free and I loved the decor. I decided to redecorate my bedroom not to perfectly match the hotel room, but to organize the clutter and create a room that I just loved. It helped, and instead of dreading bedtime, I began to look forward to entering my beautiful oasis I created for myself. I started sleeping like a baby. I created this blog to encourage you to look into redecorating your bedroom in you have sleeping troubles. It worked for me.

Landscape Ideas To Help Keep The Pests Away

Planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and herbs is an essential part of bringing your landscape to life. And by implementing specific plants into your design, you can create bug-free zones to enjoy without the need for chemical-laden bug spray, smelly mosquito coils, or finicky citronella candles in order to get relief from skin bug bites and pest irritants. With help from the following suggestions, you should be able to create your own pest-free outdoor space without having to spend a lot of money or commit to a big construction project:

A Fly-Free Grilling Area

Grilling outdoors is a great way to bond with friends and family, especially when flies are buzzing around everyone's heads. An easy way to keep flies at bay is to put planter boxes around the back and sides of your barbecue grill as a barrier. Try planting a couple of different fly repelling options in the vicinity such as sweet basil, wormwood, and lavender. You can cut pieces of fresh basil and lavender from their plants and place them on the top grill to keep flies away from a large group of people.

An Anti-Ant Picnic Zone

Nobody likes ants creeping about during a picnic or while trying to read a good book under a tree – luckily, with a little intentional landscaping you don't have to worry about getting bugged in the yard. Pick a spot in your yard where you enjoy spending time vegging out or picnicking, and plant a few. Try anti-ant options including garlic, mint, and tansy. Try planting your shrubs in a circular fashion with a small opening that has stone steps leading to the middle of it so you can spread a blanket out right inside your fly barrier.

No-Bite Porch Zone

A great way to keep mosquitoes away from your outdoor porch area so you don't have to worry about scratching while you relax is to plant citronella and marigolds in planter boxes around the exterior edges of the porch. This will not only keep mosquitoes from hanging around the area, but it will spice things up with color and depth. You can break pieces of catnip off the plants and put them in cases to use as centerpieces, which should enhance and extend your area of mosquito protection.

Choose areas in your yard for relaxing and barbecuing that get both natural sunlight and shade throughout the day to ensure optimal growth for your new plants.
