Can't Sleep? Redecorate Your Bedroom

I have always had trouble falling asleep for no good reason. One thing I noticed while on a trip out of town one day was that I slept great at the hotel. I tried to think of why this occurred, and the main things that stuck out to me were that the hotel room was clutter-free and I loved the decor. I decided to redecorate my bedroom not to perfectly match the hotel room, but to organize the clutter and create a room that I just loved. It helped, and instead of dreading bedtime, I began to look forward to entering my beautiful oasis I created for myself. I started sleeping like a baby. I created this blog to encourage you to look into redecorating your bedroom in you have sleeping troubles. It worked for me.

Giving A Gift That Honors Texas Wildflowers

Texas is known for a lot of things: barbecue, its large size, and the Alamo are just a few of them. Wildflowers also play a significant role in Texas culture and nature. If you're on vacation in Texas and want to bring home a souvenir that friends and family members will really enjoy, a gift honoring the wildlflowers is sure to be a good choice. But what are your options, exactly? Take a look.

A Painting

Look for some local art galleries, and step inside. There are many local artists who paint Texas' wildflowers, and a painting is such a nice gift for someone you love. You can even look for one that shows flowers in their favorite color. For example, if your friend loves purple, you can buy them a painting with a lot of purple wildflowers. Since it was painted in Texas, it's even more fitting.

Some Wildflower Seeds

Not all Texas wildflowers will grow well in other climates, but some do. After all, wildflowers tend to be pretty hardy and resilient — just like Texans. There are some gardening stores that sell wildflower seed packets. They often contain seeds from numerous different varieties of wildflowers, all mixed together. So if you give one of these packets as a gift to a friend, they can plant them, and at least some of them should survive and be a pretty reminder of Texas.

Pressed Flowers

Another option is to pick some wildflowers you come across during your time in Texas and then press those wildflowers between the pages of a book. You can put some wax paper on either side of them first. This will keep them from sticking as they dry out, but maintain their color. You can give the pressed flowers to a friend who can frame them, make them into a bookmark, or use them in some other creative manner. 

T-Shirts

While t-shirts may seem like an overly simplistic souvenir gift, one that shows photos of wildflowers is a bit different from the average souvenir shirt with the big word "Texas" printed across the chest. This may be a good choice for someone who you know will want to display their love for Texas more subtly. A flowered t-shirt is beautiful and quiet but still honors Texas' wildflowers.
